Ten years ago, Baders on Tour went around South America (there were only two of us then!) and we promised each other we'd come back one day with our family. Now, after two years of meticulous planning - well, talking about it quite a bit, at least - our family gap year adventure has finally begun......

Baders on tour caught in deadly grip of tornado
It was indeed a brush with death today as we came face to face with a tornado of arguably biblical proportions. Approaching this almost other-wordly phenomenon, on the famous Ruta 40 travelling south from Mendoza, central Argentina, we could see dust and debris spiralling rapidly through the air from a distance, and as we approached, what looked like a bale of hay was following a similar circular trajectory, right across the road just in front of us......the video has to be seen to be believed........
